Pyramid Alternatives offers voluntary and mandated assessments as well as individual, group and family treatment. We work collaboratively with juvenile probation programs, the courts and schools to deliver substance abuse, anger management and domestic violence programs. Because we recognize the importance of family, this component is a part of each teen’s custom-tailored program. A typical program consists of 12 weeks of group or individual treatment and six weeks of family counseling.

Adolescent Alcohol and Drug Treatment

In a safe and supportive outpatient setting, Pyramid helps teens explore their use of alcohol and drugs. Our program collaborates with youth and families to create goals and identify youths strengths. In addition, we focus on helping youth develop healthy life styles and coping mechanisms, manage peer pressure, and make positive choices to better their lives and futures. This program also offers opportunities to learn how to build healthy relationships and improve communication skills.

Adolescent Anger Management

We teach teens to manage stress and frustration, practice self-calming, improve communication skills and develop healthy relationships. We also counsel teens about the effects of alcohol and drugs on emotions and behavior.

Family Counseling

We support families as they examine relationship dynamics, parenting techniques and other issues. In the process, families strengthen their communication skills and work toward creating and sustaining positive change.

Kaiser and South San Francisco Union High School District Collaboration

Adolescent substance abuse and anger management treatment is offered in South San Francisco high schools and middle schools through a Kaiser Foundation grant in collaboration with San Mateo County Alcohol and Drug Services.
